If entertainment is what you are after, try a theme park. From A for Aquatic to Z for Zoo, there is a whole alphabet of leisure activities in the five départements of Aquitaine.

Aquatic? There is one aqua leisure park in Périgord, one in Gironde, one in the Béarn, and two in the Landes area, close to the Ocean.

Leisure? From tree climbing to mini-golf, from Tyrolean traverse to archery, there are more than a hundred such activities to choose from in the recreational parks of Aquitaine.

Fun park? The famous kangaroo in Walibi Park awaits you, 5 km from Agen in the heart of Lot-et-Garonne.

 

Do you prefer ladybirds? The ladybird park is to be found in the Bay of Arcachon: part amusement park, part mini-zoo.

On the subject of animals… The region offers plenty of animal parks, educational farms, reptile houses, etc. We will only mention three rather than all of them.

Needless to say, animals as varied as stag, donkeys, bees, vultures, Chilean beavers and rare fowl – in fact a real Noah’s Ark – all have their own place where you can discover them!

Aquitaine also has three zoos, in Bordeaux-Pessac, La Teste de Buch on the Bay of Arcachon, and Asson, to the southeast of Pau. Big cats, hippopotamuses, wolves and bears have been delighting kids and adults for generations.
